Saturday 23rd March at 8.30pm is Earth Hour, give up your lights or TV or computer for 60 minutes. Doesn't seem like much but this gives the Earth back millions of hours.
This initiative has been running since 2007 and has transformed legislation and protected vulnerable land and marine environments.
What will you do to participate?
Switch of your lights? Cook a locally sourced meal? you could also have it by candlelight.
Play a board game with your family? Go on a torch light walk in your local park or even in your garden? Maybe you could spot some wildlife that likes to come out at night.
For those younger kids they could collect some leaves and create a collage of them.
There is no limit to what you can do, as long as you take the action. Small steps add up.
We will be participating, candlelight dinner sounds good to me.
